AOL Instant Messenger is quite a misnomer. Instant messaging is in fact not instant at all. Many a time, I have messaged a friend, only to wait hours for a response. However, it is an entirely different kettle of fish to call IM instantaneous messaging. Because once I click "send," the message takes a near-zero amount of time to travel. That is, there is a difference between instantly and instantaneously, the former taking place in an instant and the latter taking an instant to take place.

I opened my front door this morning and ran into a shopping cart parked in the hallway. There is now a dirty red shopping cart in my room. Curse you, whoever blessed me with this false gift.

I think we should start calling it "Asynchronous Instantaneous Messenger".

Maybe its a Trojan Horse type gift, that will somehow kill you in the middle of the night. I'd be very suspicious.

I hate shopping carts. I always happen to get the one with the dud wheel that cant be properly manuvered no mater how hard I try, the one that goes crashing into salad dressing displays and innocent shoppers for the sole pirpose of making me look like a clumbsy ass. Which I absolutely am, but I insist that the wheel take some of the blame.
